Immersion is one of those images where colour completely takes over.
There is no obvious horizon and very little to tell you exactly what you are looking at. Instead, the landscape becomes layers of blue — from the intense cobalt at the bottom through softer blues, mauves and those wonderful touches of pale yellow.
That is what I love about photographing from above. A landscape can stop looking like a landscape altogether.
For me, Immersion is simply about being surrounded by colour. The deeper I look into it, the more subtle colour I find.

Interior Design Suggestions
Immersion is a particularly versatile work because of its restrained composition and beautiful blue palette.
The cobalt gives the image strength, while the softer blue, mauve and pale yellow areas stop it from becoming overpowering. It would work beautifully with warm whites, natural stone, pale timber, soft grey, linen and neutral interiors.
At a large scale, I can see this working particularly well in contemporary living spaces, bedrooms, entrance areas and coastal interiors. For commercial projects, its colour and abstraction would suit hotels, wellness spaces, reception areas, corporate interiors and hospitality environments.
It would also sit beautifully alongside other works from Blue Awakening, where the variations in blue create cohesion without the images becoming repetitive.
