Blue Haze is one of those images where the colour almost completely took over for me.
From above, the landscape seemed to dissolve into layers of blue, lavender and the palest cream. There are no strong lines telling you where one area ends and another begins. Everything just seems to drift into the next.
I love the little variations you discover when you look more closely. There are deeper patches of blue, touches of pink and mauve, and those soft areas of cream that seem to float across the surface.
It hardly feels like a landscape anymore.
That's what drew me to this image. Colour came first, as it so often does for me, and then I started noticing the subtle textures and marks underneath it.
Blue Haze is part of my Blue Awakening series, where colour, texture and landscape become increasingly difficult to separate.
Interior Design Suggestions
Blue Haze has a very soft presence despite the intensity of the blue.
The combination of blue, lavender, cream and subtle pink makes it particularly suited to interiors using warm whites, pale timber, soft grey, stone and natural textures. It could also be beautiful in a more minimal interior where the blue becomes the main source of colour in the room.
I can see this working particularly well in bedrooms, living spaces, quiet sitting areas and contemporary coastal interiors, but at a larger scale it could also work beautifully in reception areas, wellness spaces, accommodation and commercial interiors.
It would work as a standalone piece, but I particularly like Blue Haze alongside other works from Blue Awakening, where the variations in blue and softer colours can move across several artworks.
